Garage Organization | Our Costco Favorites
Our garage had recently become overrun. So much so that you could barely walk around in it. There were items that needed to be donated, things that needed to just be stored in a different place in the house, but the biggest culprit was our ever-growing inventory of home-staging materials. We are glad our collection is growing - that means we are getting to help sell more of our clients homes! - but we needed a new storage solution. Luckily we still had one more wall of the garage that we could put some of our favorite shelving against. So we got to work….
What did we use for this project?
Here are the Costco links for the 3 key items to our success in getting things under control in the garage:
Shelving: We love these shelves because they are BIG - they can hold a lot and really maximize the space. They are sturdy, yet lightweight enough that Emily can assemble them on her own.
Big bins: The classic black & yellow bins are not our favorite aesthetically, but they are so versatile. We love the way they stack & how much they can hold. They are our go-to for holiday decor, costumes, & camping gear.
Smaller bins: These clear ones were ideal for our staging inventory so that we can easily see what all is in each bin. They are still sturdy & stackable.
ALSO! Always have your favorite label maker or masking tape + sharpie handy for labeling - that part is crucial.
How did it all turn out?
Amazing! We are so thrilled that all of our Kaplan & Co. goodies now have a home (peep that hot dog grill on the bottom shelf!!). It is going to make staging future homes a breeze, and being able to actually walk across the garage to grab something from the fridge is also a major win!
The biggest challenge with any home organization project is actually keeping the system in place. So stay tuned to make sure that we stick with keeping everything in organized in their new homes!
